Koff Lite-saippuaa x2

Olutsaippua

190 g kookosöljyä
225 g palmuöljyä
360 g oliiviöljyä
150 g possunrasva
75 g karitevoita

408 g olutta (johon sekoitin lusikallisen sokeria) + 136 g lipeää
2 % natriumlaktaattia

Vajaa viikon vanhat saippuat. Vasemmalla CP, oikealla OHP

I had two Koff Lite beers at home and they had gone old (only a month). I was going to use it as liquid when I make bread, but well, I didn´t :) Koff Lite is a Finnish lager that has a very pale yellow color. I wanted to make a simple soap so I decided that it should be round and only get the color from the fragrance. I split the batch and made one CP and one OHP soap.

The soap contains coconut oil, shea butter, palm oil, olive oil and lard. I also put in the OHP soap about ½ dl coconut creme and 1 tsp castor oil. The CP soap is scented with Dark Chocolate FO and Chocolate Truffle FO. The OHP soap contains only Chocolate Truffle FO. They both smell good, but the mixture smells good enough to eat! You can see from the pictures that the OHP soap is not totally brown. It seems like I didn´t mix the FO good enough, but I think that the soap just looks more interesting.

If you have not tried beer in your soaps, please try it. It is sooooo good. And the lather has big bubbles.

  1. I thought the colour came from the wine :).

  2. Your soap turned out so nice! I love the difference between the CP and OHP...I would have thought you swirled the OHP on purpose & it looks so smooth! Do you have to prepare the beer somehow or can you use it right out of the bottle?

    1. Thanks Cee :o) I let the beer go flat for a day or so. I used to boil the beer so there would not be any alcohol, but in the Soaping101 video they said that you only boil away all the good things at the same time.

  3. Now I have to try some beer,if you say so!
I think I'll put a tsp of sugar in it, to make the fizz goes away. What do you think? By the way, I was going to put it on fire, to speed up going flat. Hmmm, maybe just on low heating, to make sure there's no more alcohol. Your has gone so dark, as if you had used dark beer, which you didn't.
Anyway, it's nice and put some bubbly photo of it, I haven't tried a beer soap yet.

    1. This is the first beer soap that I haven´t used boiled beer in. It seems to work just fine. I have already used the OHP soap and is nice and bubbly.
I could take some pics with the bubbles also! :)
